Artificial insemination or IVF
Depending on the woman’s ovarian reserve and the state of her eggs, the treatment to be followed will be Artificial Insemination or In Vitro Fertilization, both with donor sperm.
Artificial Insemination is indicated for women with good oocyte quality, generally under 38 years of age. In Vitro Fertilization, on the other hand, is indicated for those women who need a little more help than an insemination. When eggs are scarce or of lower quality, it will be necessary to stimulate, extract, fertilize and transfer.
Embryo transfer or embryo donation
In addition to Artificial Insemination and IVF, there is a third possibility for women who wish to face motherhood alone. This involves receiving an embryo from another couple who have decided to donate it because they have already fulfilled their reproductive desires.
Embryo-reception is a very simple treatment. It only requires minimal stimulation to prepare the endometrium for embryo transfer. This option should be considered in those cases in which the eggs of the future mother are not optimal for fertilization and ovodonation is considered.
